Gender Integration Specialist
The Arab Institute for Women (AiW) is currently looking for a Gender Integration Specialist reporting to the Director of AiW. This is a central position that is primarily based on the Beirut campus.Role Summary
The Gender Integration Specialist is mainly responsible for coordinating AiW’s projects, co-writing proposals, and organizing and executing events and activities that engage LAU students, faculty, staff and integrate the LAU community into the work of the Institute.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates funded projects as assigned, by ensuring proper implementation, monitoring deliverables, indicators, timeframes, and budgets
- Co-writes proposals as requested
- Prepares periodic reports to donors, including monitoring and evaluation data and presentations regarding projects
- Coordinates with departments at LAU (Office of Grants and Contracts, Budgets and Financial Planning, Procurement, and Business Office) on all matters related to assigned funded projects
- Organizes, in coordination with LAU offices, events and activities ensuring smooth organization and execution
- Screens and recommends trainers, assesses training sessions, and updates course key messages for the related diplomas in collaboration with the Academy of Continuing Education
- Attends events on and off campus as requested
- Liaises with the Strategic Communications department at LAU for assigned AiW activities and events, and ensures their proper coverage and reach
- Prepares, organizes, and files all documents related to the assigned projects
- Participates in trainings and workshops for professional and technical development
- Handles office administrative matters as requested
- Prepares and reports on data as requested
- Stays up-to-date on gender-related trends and best practices
- Acts as backup support for office staff as needed to ensure continuity of operations
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in project coordination. Knowledge of gender issues is preferred
- Ability to engage the LAU community and the public in a variety of activities and engagements
- Good command of both English and Arabic (written and spoken)
- Ability to be highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint…)
- Ability to work within teams cooperatively
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
