Graphic Designer, Advancement
The Advancement Entity / Advancement Operations Department is currently looking for a Graphic Designer, Advancement reporting to the Advancement Communications Manager. This is a central position that is primarily based on Beirut campus, with occasional commuting to Byblos campus.Role Summary
The Graphic Designer is mainly responsible for shaping the visual identity of LAU’s Advancement communications. S/he will design and handle digital and print assets that support fundraising, alumni engagement, and campaign initiatives. From case statements and donor brochures to newsletters, coffee table books, and website content, the designer will ensure that all materials reflect LAU’s brand, values, and strategic priorities.
The designer will work closely with writers, fundraisers, and leadership across Beirut and New York to produce compelling, donor-facing content that inspires philanthropic support and deepens stakeholder engagement.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Designs high-impact print and digital materials including:
- Case statements, donor proposals, and brochures
- Coffee table books and stewardship reports
- Event invitations, announcements, and newsletters
- Develops visual assets for major gift announcements and campaign milestones
- Creates templates and graphics for email campaigns and social media
- Manages and updates the Office of Advancement website, ensuring timely and engaging content
- Collaborates with content writers to translate narratives into compelling visual formats
- Ensures brand consistency across all digital platforms
- Optimizes user experience and accessibility across devices
- Archives collected information and photos/videos to allow potential revisiting for expanded/future articles
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned by the direct supervisor
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design
- Minimum 2 years of experience in graphic and web design
- Experience designing for fundraising, donor relations, or institutional advancement is a plus
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic
- Strong MS Office skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, and webCMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
- Strong portfolio showcasing print and digital design work
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and UX/UI principles is an asset
- Awareness and respect of intellectual property and due diligence in the use of fonts, stock images, royalty-free icons, etc.
- Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones
- Strong visual storytelling skills, web design expertise, and a collaborative spirit
- Passion for education and mission-driven design
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clean, elegant visuals
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of layout, typography, and brand alignment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment
Work Schedule
This position follows a standard work schedule (Monday to Friday) with possible/ occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends/holidays to ensure business continuity. This role requires collaboration across multiple time zones.
