Instructional Designer - Byblos
The Center for Innovative Learning (CIL) is currently looking for an Instructional Designer reporting to the Director of CIL. This position is based on the Byblos campus with occasional commuting to the Beirut campus.Role Summary
The Instructional Designer is primarily responsible for analyzing, planning, designing and developing educational experiences that maximize outcomes and learner success through technology and pedagogy.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides one-on-one support for faculty who wish to renovate their courses, learn new pedagogies and experiment with new technologies
- Develops instructional material to produce educational content, and incorporates current technology for developing the course content
- Supports faculty in their work to include innovative methods of content delivery in online, hybrid, and face-to-face environments using appropriate technologies and high impact pedagogies
- Analyzes and evaluates new instructional tools and technologies, along with recommending applicable tools and approaches to enhance course design and delivery
- Reviews online and hybrid courses by applying the Quality Matters Rubric to ensure the highest level of course quality, student experience and engagement
- Edits and develops online learning materials
- Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments
- Works closely with the Multimedia Designer in the creation of appropriate material/media (audio, video, simulations, games, etc.), audio, and interactive learning tools
- Compiles and presents data reports as required
- Reports periodically on the status and progress of work to the direct supervisor
- Stays up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the role
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned by the direct supervisor
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree, preferably in Education, Computer Science, STEM field or any other related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in instructional design within an educational sector
- Good knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Innovative mindset in using technology
- Ability to write instructional text, audio and video scripts
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with Blackboard, Blackboard Ultra, Articulate 360 and other instructional technologies
- Good communication and written skills in Arabic and English
Work Schedule
This position follows a normal work schedule (Monday – Friday) with possible/occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends/holidays to ensure business continuity and meet critical deadlines.
