Instructional Technologist - Byblos

Role Summary

The Instructional Technologist is mainly responsible for facilitating technology-rich teaching and learning through the development of technology-integrated instructional strategies. This role involves collaborating with faculty, instructional designers and multimedia designers to translate course material into engaging technology and multimedia rich learning paths that elevate the overall pedagogical experience.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Explores and implements new technologies and methodologies to enhance teaching and learning
• Collaborates with faculty and instructional designers to identify and implement technological solutions that enhance the delivery of educational content
• Coordinates with IT when necessary to deploy relevant educational technologies
• Applies multimedia design principles in the creation of online content in support of the directives of the instructional designer and faculty member
• Provides training sessions for faculty on the effective use of educational technologies
• Provides guidance and support to faculty on the effective use of learning technologies, multimedia tools, and educational software
• Collaborates with the Instructional Designer and Multimedia Designer to create visually engaging and interactive learning materials
• Works closely with instructional and multimedia designers to develop consistent and innovative learning solutions on the learning management system
• Fosters a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of best practices and ideas
• Develops custom technologies or adapts off-the shelf technology (applications, web applications, modules under blackboard, etc.) to support the learning process
• Compiles and presents data reports as required
• Reports periodically on the status and progress of work to the direct supervisor
• Stays informed about emerging technologies and assesses their potential impact on instructional practices
• Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned by the direct supervisor

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in instructional technology with a focus on multimedia integration
• Strong technical skills and proficiency in educational technology platforms and tools including:
  • Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard)
  • eLearning Authoring Tools (e.g., Articulate Rise 360, Storyline)
  • Multimedia Production Tools (e.g., Canva, Panopto)
• Assessment and Survey Tools (e.g., Microsoft Forms, Kahoot, Quizizz)
• Basic knowledge of web technologies (e.g., HTML)
• Excellent communication skills in English – both oral and written
• Collaborative approach to working, fostering effective communication and exchange of ideas in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on addressing challenges related to multimedia integration and technology
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving educational technologies and multimedia design trends
• Proactive in staying current with emerging educational technologies and tools

Work Schedule

This position follows a normal work schedule (Monday – Friday) with possible/occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends/holidays to ensure business continuity and meet critical deadlines.
