The IT Applications & Solutions Office is currently looking for an IT Solutions Architect reporting to the Director of IT Applications & Solutions. This is a central position that is based on Beirut campus, with occasional commuting to Byblos campus.Role Summary
The IT Solutions Architect is mainly responsible for managing strategic reporting solutions, data transformation and integration projects; researching and leading the use of innovative middleware tools and reporting solutions for the university-wide systems. S/he acts as application administrator on designated enterprise application(s) as assigned by the DITAS, and keeps the IT environment current with new technologies and security standards.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Implements and manages middleware technologies to provide robust, cutting-edge integration solutions and leverage them to meet new challenges rapidly and cost-effectively
- Collaborates with various University constituencies and IT teams to ensure data quality, integrity and consistency of data across all applications
- Creates and maintains standards and procedural documentation related to reporting and middleware solutions. May assist in training personnel on reporting tools
- Assists in the development of project management plans and other planning documents in support of a system update or for a full project implementation. May lead IT project efforts
- Participates in the Business Process Reengineering initiatives of the University: develops, configures and facilitates technology solutions to these initiatives
- Participates in investigation tasks
- Follows-up on contracts and agreements
- Participates in audit reviews
- Prepares and reports on data as requested
- Reports periodically on the status and progress of work to the direct supervisor
- Ensures the proper maintenance and safekeeping of personally handled documents and files
- Stays up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the role
- Provides backup support when needed to ensure continuity of operations
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Minimum 6 years of work experience, out of which 3 years are in functional relevance
- Experience with statistical and data mining techniques, BI tools, control and reporting tools, IT processes, functions and practices, data integration and transformation. Knowledge of IT platforms, web environments and reporting tools, security compliance and quality control
- Strong people skills with a collaborative approach

- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Work Schedule
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with possible/ occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends/holidays for system maintenance or emergency tasks.
