Part-Time AI Application Developer - Byblos
The School of Engineering is currently looking for an AI Application Developer reporting to the Dean. This position is based on Byblos campus, with flexible hours depending on project needs.Role Summary
The AI Application Developer will support a range of innovation and entrepreneurship-focused projects within the School of Engineering. This role is ideal for a technically capable developer with experience in AI and full-stack development who can work closely with students to help translate early-stage projects into functional applications. The developer will build and integrate AI models into web/mobile apps, assist in prototyping and deployment, and provide hands-on technical guidance for student-led ventures. The role emphasizes rapid execution, experimentation, and mentorship in a dynamic learning environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops basic full-stack applications (web and mobile) with AI-powered features
- Integrates LLMs and machine learning models into product prototypes using tools such as OpenAI, LangChain, or Hugging Face
- Supports students in transforming high-level concepts into functioning MVPs
- Mentors non-technical student teams on best practices for prototyping and AI implementation
- Assists in testing and deployment of applications across iOS, Android, and web platforms
- Creates reusable templates and technical documentation to accelerate development across multiple student projects
- Participates in project planning sessions to provide input on development timelines and feasibility
- Performs other duties pertaining to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development
- Demonstrated experience in building and deploying apps from start to finish (including iOS and/or Android platforms) – Portfolio required
- Working knowledge of modern front-end and back-end frameworks (e.g., React, Flutter, Node.js, Django)
- Practical experience integrating AI or ML tools and APIs into applications
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to ship code quickly and efficiently
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with student teams and faculty
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a startup or innovation-driven environment
- Familiarity with cloud services (Firebase, AWS, GCP) and Git version control
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality code under tight timelines
