Part-Time Instructional Technologist
The Center for Innovative Learning (CIL) is currently looking for an Instructional Technologist reporting to the Deputy Director of CIL. This position is based on Beirut campus with occasional commuting to Byblos campus.Role Summary
The Instructional Technologist is primarily responsible for facilitating technology-rich teaching and learning by supporting the integration of educational technologies and multimedia into instructional practices. This role involves collaborating with faculty, instructional designers and multimedia designers to enhance the pedagogical experience through technology.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Explores and implements new technologies and methodologies to enhance teaching and learning
- Collaborates with faculty and instructional designers to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance the delivery of educational content
- Coordinates with IT when necessary to deploy relevant educational technologies
- Applies multimedia design principles in the creation of online content in support of the directives of the instructional designer and faculty member
- Provides training sessions for faculty on the effective use of educational technologies
- Provides guidance and support to faculty on the effective use of learning technologies, multimedia tools, and educational software
- Collaborates with the Instructional Designer and Multimedia Designer to create visually engaging and interactive learning materials
- Works closely with instructional and multimedia designers to develop consistent and innovative learning solutions on the learning management system
- Fosters a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of best practices and ideas
- Develops custom technologies or adapts off-the shelf technology (applications, web applications, modules under blackboard, etc.) to support the learning process
- Stays informed about emerging technologies and assesses their potential impact on instructional practices
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in instructional technology with a focus on multimedia integration
- Strong technical proficiency in educational technology platforms, including:
o Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard)
o eLearning Authoring Tools (e.g., Articulate Rise 360, Storyline)
o Multimedia Production Tools (e.g., Canva, Panopto)
o Assessment and Survey Tools (e.g., Microsoft Forms, Kahoot, Quizizz)
- Basic knowledge of web technologies (e.g., HTML)
- Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on addressing challenges related to multimedia integration and technology
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and multimedia design trends
- Proactive approach to staying current with instructional tools and practices
