Security Guard - Byblos
The Protection Office is currently looking for a Security Guard reporting to the Protection Manager. This position is based on Byblos Campus.Role Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the University campus through enforcing access control, assisting in emergency situations, and protecting individuals and property from potential threats.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Verifies the identity of individuals entering the campus, maintains communication with the Protection Office concerning the entry of visitors and suppliers to campus, and directs visitors to their intended destinations
- Assists in maintaining discipline during entrance exams, registration, drop / add periods, commencement and other major activities on campus, and reports any misconduct
- Helps in organizing parking lots and controls any violations
- Regulates entry and exit of vehicles and merchandise at the campus gates, and ensures that appropriate permissions are secured before allowing such entries and exits
- Takes appropriate action in the event of suspicious or unsafe manner, and reports to the Protection Office
- Safeguards the University against potential internal and/or external threats
- Guards specific buildings on Campus, when assigned
- Assists in emergency evacuations in case of accident on campus as per established protocols
- Fosters a welcoming and secure atmosphere for all campus members
- Performs other duties pertinent to the position as requested by the direct supervisor
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate II Diploma or its equivalent Technical Diploma with a minimum or 5 years of experience in the protection and security field OR Brevet with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the protection and security field
- Basic knowledge of English and computer skills
- Physically fit with the ability to work under pressure
Work Schedule
This position operates on shift schedules, rotating between day and night shifts to ensure 24/7 campus coverage. Flexibility is required, as shifts are assigned on a rotational basis, including weekends and holidays.
