Student Retention Data Analyst - Byblos
The Office of the Dean of Students is currently looking for a Student Retention Data Analyst reporting to the Director of Student Services. This position is based on Byblos Campus.Role Summary
The Student Retention Data Analyst is mainly responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to student retention, and labor market trends to support and facilitate data-driven decision-making aiming at reducing student attrition and enhancing career readiness. By providing data-driven insights, the analyst contributes to strategic improvements in student success.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Collects, organizes and analyzes data from multiple sources pertaining to student retention, ensuring high data integrity and reliability
- Works closely with Student Services team and other stakeholders to identify trends, patterns, and predictors of student success and attrition
- Administers the student retention platform “Starfish” while actively contributing to informative workshops/presentation sessions on its usage for students, faculty, and staff
- Develops predictive models to identify at-risk students for targeted interventions
- Prepares regular reports on retention trends, student outcomes, and program effectiveness for university leadership, and develops and maintains interactive dashboards, and data visuals to track KPIs
- Researches evolving job market trends, analyzes employment data, and collaborates with Career Services to align students career readiness with industry needs
- Ensures compliance with institutional policies and legal standards related to data privacy, security, and accessibility
- Benchmarks the university’s retention performance/metrics against peer institutions
- Stays current on research and best practices in student retention and data analytics
- Reports periodically on the status and progress of matters to the direct supervisor
- Acts as backup support when needed to ensure continuity of operations on both campuses
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business ITM/MIS, Business with minor in Data Analytics or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis or a related field
- Highly skilled in data analytics software such as Excel, SPSS, SQL, Python, R or Tableau
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and database management systems
- Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality of records and information
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other offices
