The Finance Operations Department is currently looking for a Travel & Payroll Accountant reporting to the Director of Personnel Accounts. This position is based on Byblos Campus.Role Summary
The Travel & Payroll Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll payment, travel expense transactions as well as all journal vouchers within the accounting systems.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Processes and books Payroll Transactions, group travel transactions, and travel expense reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepares Payroll declaration forms and all related benefits and calculations related Social Security and Taxes
- Organizes and sorts data required for processing the payroll
- Prepares employees’ payments in the set deadlines and responds promptly to their inquiries
- Charges the appropriate accounts and cost centers of the payroll components and the related benefits
- Prepares monthly analysis of accounts related to the Payroll accounts
- Coordinates and follows up on related departments for delivering payroll data in the set deadlines
- Follows up to clear outstanding issues
- Maintains proper and accurate accruals for indemnity and prepares indemnity payments
- Processes actual expenditures through the appropriate modules and prepares control sheets for budget control purposes
- Performs monthly reconciliations of travel accounts versus general ledger
- Assists in the analysis of general ledger accounts
- Assists in the preparation of the SRDC control report
- Prepares selected bank reconciliations
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as required
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, preferably in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a related accounting capacity
- Knowledge of accounting standards
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use ERP systems; knowledge of Oracle HRMS is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English and Arabic
- Attention to detail
- Service-oriented
