Dr. Dima Jamali

Dean of the Adnan Kassar School of Business

Dr. Dima R. Jamali has been appointed Dean of the Adnan Kassar School of Business at LAU, effective September 1, 2025.

Before assuming this role, Dr. Jamali had served as Dean of the School of Management at the Canadian University Dubai, where she was also Vice President for Academic Affairs and most recently Vice President for University Advancement. Prior to that, she was Dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Sharjah.

At the American University of Beirut, she rose through the ranks at the Olayan School of Business, serving as Associate Dean, before becoming Endowed Chair in Responsible Leadership in 2014 and Executive Director for Strategic Partnerships in 2016. In these roles, she advanced the school’s global profile, oversaw international collaborations, and promoted sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Dr. Jamali has also served as an expert consultant for the United Nations, the World Bank, and major firms in Lebanon on issues of social policy and corporate social responsibility. She founded and presided as National Representative of the UN Global Compact Network Lebanon, a coalition of businesses committed to advancing the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. She is also a member of the Globally Responsible Initiative and the Global Chapter Council for the UN Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME).

Her research and publications on sustainability, CSR, and social entrepreneurship are widely recognized. She is the author or editor of ten books and more than 150 international publications. Stanford University ranked her among the top 2 percent of scientists worldwide in sustainability in 2020 and 2021, while QS ranked her 3rd among business and management scholars in the UAE for four consecutive years (2021–2024).

Dr. Jamali has been honored with numerous awards, including the 2024 Kuwait Prize for pioneering Arab scholars, the National Council for Scientific Research Excellence Award (2016), the Aspen Institute Faculty Pioneer Award (2015), the Shield of Excellence for the Arab Region, the Shoman Prize for Young Researchers, and the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility’s Personality of the Year for CSR award (2015). She was also selected for the Eisenhower Fellows Program in 2013 and for the British Academy of Management Fellowship for South Asia and the Middle East in 2007.

She holds a PhD in Social Policy and Administration from the University of Kent at Canterbury, a Master in Sociology from San José State University, US, and a BA in Public Administration from AUB, Lebanon.
