Mrs. Amal Abdel Massih
Assistant Vice President for Advancement Operations
Mrs. Amal Abdel Massih was appointed as Assistant Vice President for Advancement Operations in December, 2025.
In this role, she leads the operational backbone of the university’s advancement efforts, ensuring that all supporting functions, from data analytics and prospect research to stewardship, communications, and gifts administration, all operate in a cohesive, strategic, and high-performing manner.
Mrs. Abdel Massih works closely with the Vice President for Advancement as a trusted advisor, aligning infrastructure, systems, and teams with LAU’s fundraising priorities and capital campaign goals. Through her leadership, Advancement Operations enables more effective donor engagement and sustainable growth in philanthropic support.
An LAUer through and through, her experience spans more than three decades of service to the institution, reflecting a steady progression of leadership and deep institutional knowledge.
Starting off as an accountant in charge of student accounts in 1990, she developed a strong foundation in financial operations and reporting. By 1998, she transitioned to support LAU’s fundraising efforts in the capacity of an Assistant to the director of Development, playing a key role in strengthening internal reporting systems and contributing to modernizing the university’s database infrastructure.
Mrs. Abdel Massih’s growing expertise led to successive leadership roles, including Assistant Director for Development Services (2001–2005) and Assistant Director for Advancement Services (2005–2007), where she expanded her scope to include gift processing, database management, and cross-departmental coordination.
In 2007, she was appointed Director of Advancement Services, overseeing operations across both Beirut and New York offices, followed by her promotion to Executive Director of Advancement Services in 2014. In this role, she led the full spectrum of advancement operations, including data analytics, reporting, gift processing, and stewardship coordination, while serving as a key liaison with Finance, Financial Aid, and other institutional stakeholders.
Mrs. Abdel Massih holds a BS in Marketing from the Beirut University College (BUC)—as LAU was known back then.
