The School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean for Research and Accreditation, to begin in Fall 2026. This is a tenure-track appointment open to candidates who hold the rank of Associate Professor or above.
We seek a visionary academic leader with a strong research profile and demonstrated experience in accreditation processes, particularly with NAAB and NASAD. The Assistant Dean will play a key role in shaping the School’s research culture and ensuring continued excellence in academic standards and accreditation compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support faculty research initiatives, including grant writing and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Oversee and coordinate accreditation processes with NAAB and NASAD, including documentation, reporting, and strategic planning.
- Develop and implement assessment procedures aligned with institutional and accreditation standards.
- Represent the School on university-wide committees and external academic bodies.
- Teach in the candidate’s area of expertise (reduced teaching load of 9 credits/year).
Qualifications
- PhD degree in architecture or any design field
- Administrative experience in higher education.
- A strong record of scholarly research and academic leadership.
- Demonstrated experience with NAAB and/or NASAD accreditation processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to innovation, diversity, and academic excellence.
- Record of received grants a plus

The School of Architecture & Design (SArD) at LAU is a vibrant academic community that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Terms of Appointment
- Start Date: Fall 2026 (September 1, 2026)
- Contract Duration: Initial 3-year term, renewable annually based on performance.
- Rank: Associate Professor or above (tenure-track).
