Role Summary
The Vice President for Health Affairs shall be responsible for the overall healthcare affairs and businesses of the Group in alignment with its values. He/she will assist the President in fulfilling the vision, mission, values, and strategy in complementing the goals of the health science departments with the delivery of healthcare within an integrated academic health system.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing strategies to position the medical centers as a regional healthcare leader
- Guiding, directing and streamlining the work of the CEOs and CMOs of the Medical Centers and Clinics
- Guiding the leadership of the affiliated hospitals to ensure alignment with the goals, strategies and educational mission of affiliated university’s health science schools
- Coordinating with the Deans of the Health Science Schools to aggressively lead the expansion of all healthcare services both in Lebanon and in the region
- Ensuring the delivery of prompt, patient-friendly quality healthcare services by standardizing and centralizing the medical services across the Medical Centers and Clinics
- Collaborating with local healthcare providers and hospitals to enhance access to specialty medical care in the local communities
- Perpetuating a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across the academic Medical Centers and Clinics
- Ensuring state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and services based on the latest US standards at the Medical Centers and Clinics
- Connecting with community organizations, hospitals and physician-leaders to establish, enhance and/or expand existing university affiliations and nurture good relationships with these facilities
- Ensuring that all healthcare services are in line with the University mission, vision and goals
- Streamlining and unifying shared services across medical centers and clinics in order to leverage existing human resources and develop an “economy of scale” with suppliers
Minimum Required Qualifications
- University graduate from well reputed accredited Universities.
- Medical Doctor degree is preferred. A Master’s degree in healthcare management or an MBA is a major plus.
- Around minimum 20 years of experience in the Healthcare field with at least 10 years in managerial and leadership role within Hospitals, Medical Centers, Academic Medical Centers, Polyclinics etc. in Lebanon and/or the MENA Region.
- Bilingual: Arabic and English; French is a plus.
- Strategic vision with the ability to execute.
- A strong record of leadership and teamwork.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external constituencies.
- Excellent relationship management with good team-building track record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
