The Department of Architecture & Interior Design at the School of Architecture & Design invites applications for an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Architecture for Spring 2024 to teach Construction Documents, and Architectural Drawing or Digital Drawing and courses.
ARCH/INAR 201 Architectural Drawings
This course is an introduction to the formal representation of architecture through orthographic projections and auxiliary drawings; proportion, plans, sections, elevations, isometric, axonometric, perspective, and shade & shadows. This course will also introduce students to the various tools and techniques of technical drawing using pencil and ink.
ARCH 351 Digital Drawings
This course specifically addresses architectural applications in digital graphics, for drafting of architectural plans, sections, elevations, 3D representations, and details. The course will familiarize students with techniques of 2D drafting and 3D modeling through manipulation of geometrical and freeform objects leading to the development of a complete project.
ARCH 481 Construction Documents
This course prepares students to efficiently prepare for the execution of their projects through the elaboration of a complete set of working drawings and the preparation of a specifications list and Bill of Quantities.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates should have a minimum of a master’s degree in architecture, building construction, or a related field, in addition to teaching and professional experience. Candidates with a bachelor degree may be considered, provided they have extensive professional and/or teaching experience.
Duration of position
This position will open in Spring 2024 which begins by Mid-January and ends by Mid-May 2024. Adjunct faculty are typically offered a yearly contract, covering both Fall and Spring semesters.
