The Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing (ARCSON) at the Lebanese American University, Byblos Campus, invites applications for one full-time position beginning September 2014. Candidates must have a B.S. in Nursing and a Master’s degree in nursing or related field. Candidates who seek appointment on the tenure track (investigator or clinical focus) must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or related field. Priority needs for teaching are in psychiatric – mental health nursing. Clinical experience and educational preparation in psychiatric-mental health is required. The successful candidate will teach in classroom and clinical settings, engage in research or scholarship, and perform academic services to the University and School.
ARCSON is a new school; the first class graduated in July 2013. The School received initial accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a nursing accrediting body in the US, in 2013. Faculty who join the school will play an instrumental role in continued program development and expansion and will collaborate with faculty of LAU’s medicine, nutrition, pharmacy, and social work programs for interdisciplinary education and research. The School works closely with the Department of Nursing at University Medical Center-Rizk Hospital, our principal clinical partner. Opportunities for a joint appointment with the Hospital may be pursued.
