Profile
The MA in Islamic Art at the Lebanese American University is now accepting applications for a full time faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, starting Fall 2024. The MA in Islamic Art was established in Spring 2015 with the generous support of Mu’taz and Rada Sawwaf; who continue to offer scholarships to qualified students in this program.
The candidate for this post is expected to have already an established scholarly record in Islamic Art/Architecture and will be expected to participate effectively in this program, and to supervise graduate theses, leading to scholarly publications.
The selected faculty would be expected to teach 2 to 3 courses per term in the MA curriculum. The ability to teach general survey courses in architectural or art history would be a plus. For more information on the curriculum please check the link: http://sard.lau.edu.lb/programs/ma-islamic-art/
Minimum Requirements
PhD in Art/ Architecture History with a focus on Islamic Art/Architecture.
Duration of position
This position will open in Fall 2024, which starts by the end of August 2024. Full time faculty contracts are annual contracts with significant benefits.
