The Institute of Environmental Studies & Research Fellowship is a teaching and research fellowship award offered to a qualified candidate with the aim of promoting new research in the areas of urban planning, environmental sustainability, and related topics, with a particular focus on local and regional issues. The Fellowship is awarded competitively on an annual basis and the selected fellow is expected to be in residence at the School of Architecture & Design in Beirut, Lebanon, on a full-time basis.
The purpose of the Fellowship is to create a unique opportunity for an emerging academic who would benefit from support to conduct research, as well as benefit the Institute in contributing to the creation of a research project. The fellow would be expected to engage in both teaching and research, and to participate in the pedagogical mission of the school.
The fellow will be located within the office of the Institute, and will be provided with the necessary logistics to conduct his/her work. The teaching load will be limited to courses of expertise, and the salary would be commensurate with the teaching load and the qualifications.
Minimum qualifications: PhD in urban planning, environmental studies, or any closely related field. Alternatively, candidates with a Master degree in urban planning or environmental studies with evidence of research activity potentially leading to significant publications will also be considered.
