Position Summary
The Department of Natural Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for part-time faculty position in the field of Organic Chemistry effective Spring 2024. The department is seeking a highly qualified and motivated faculty member who is committed to innovative teaching. Active engagement in research is a plus. Prospective candidates must have earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry or related field. The successful candidate(s) is/are expected to teach Organic Chemistry lab course on Byblos campus.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate Organic Chemistry Laboratory.
- Engage in innovative teaching methods.
- Provide laboratories rich in student engagement.
Qualifications
- PhD in Organic Chemistry or related field.
- Evidence of successful university teaching.
- Good written and verbal English communication.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Active engagement in research is a plus.
The Department:
The Department of Natural Sciences is one of the five departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, a B.S. in Chemistry, a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics, a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics Coordinated Program (CP), a Master of Science (M.S.) in Nutrition, and an M.S. in Biological Sciences with additional programs upcoming in the near future.
