The Department of Art and Design at the School of Architecture & Design invites applicants for a part-time faculty position for Spring 2018. Applicants should have teaching experience and demonstrate expertise relevant to the below course. This course is part of the Graphic Design Program:

GRDE 300 Thematic Workshop I [1 cr.] 
This is a studio workshop that provides the students with specialized skills and techniques in the production of their projects. The theme of this workshop will vary and will be set depending on the visual communication mainstream trends and the market demands. Current themes for this course will be relevant to students within their first year of studies in graphic design courses. Pre-requisite: FND 236 Design Studio II

D. Motion Branding

The golden era of motion broadcast ident is transforming with the use of the internet as a long-form content provider. This studio course introduces classical and contemporary broadcast practices. It incorporates design, animation and typography to create a brand identity in motion for contemporary content-rich platforms. A complete brand in motion from opening sequences, animated typographic grid and channel identity will be addressed. This course also explores how a graphic package applies to different platforms, from home theater to mobile screen, as well as designing for various audiences - ranging from music and lifestyle channels, to current events and live Web Television. Strategies of visual communication are introduced through individual practice, assigned readings and screenings, class discussions and critiques.

Minimum Requirements: Candidates should have a MFA or MA in Graphic Design, Advertising, Motion Graphics or related fields.

Duration of position: This position will open in Spring 2018 (which starts on January 15, 2018).
