The Foundation Program in the School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University is now accepting applications for an Adjunct Faculty, for the academic year 2022-2023, for its Beirut Campus. The School is seeking faculty to teach the Shop Techniques Course in the Foundation Program – Course Description below:
FND235 – Shop Techniques
This course is a foundational course that initiates students to the craft of woodworking and wood joinery, metal work, molding and casting, with the objective of introducing students to the basic power tools and forming machinery as well as the safety procedures for using the Shop. It is co-requisite to FND232 Studio IB, a studio that explores the basics of plastic modeling and requires using the Shop as a laboratory for the development of formal elements in wood.

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or any Design Discipline in addition to teaching experience and an extensive experience with traditional Wood Shop Machinery.
Duration of position
This position will be open in Fall 2022, which starts end of August 2022.
Note: Given that this is a part-time position, the university cannot secure the candidate a work permit, if they do not have the legal right to work in Lebanon
