Position Summary
The Department of Natural Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for two part-time instructor positions in the field of Nutrition. The department is seeking a highly qualified and motivated part-time instructors who are committed to innovative teaching, preceptorship, clinical practice and community outreach. We are looking for a qualified instructor with an outstanding academic record to join the Coordinated Program (CP) practicum team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver simulation case studies, presentations, assignments and discussions pertinent to a variety of medical nutrition therapy conditions in line with the Accreditation Council for Education Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) learning outcomes.
- Correct and provide timely feedback on students’ assignments, presentation and projects.
- Participate in the collection of learning assessment data pertinent to accreditation.
- Participate in the preparation of outreach activities and health awareness events at the level of LAU and LAUMC.
- Prepare and deliver colloquium sessions and case studies.
- Prepare and deliver activities pertinent to a variety of rotations at LAUMC for the Coordinated Program (CP) practicum students.
- Correct Coordinated Program (CP) practicum students’ assignments, presentations and projects.
- Participate in the collection of learning assessment data pertinent to accreditation.
- Update Coordinated Program rotations matched to the Accreditation Council for Education Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) learning outcomes under the supervision of the Internship Coordinator and Program Director.
- Participate in the Coordinated Program (CP) student’ practicum health awareness and outreach activities.
- Participate in the preparation and delivery of colloquium sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must hold a M.S in Nutrition or closely related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Holder of a B.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics Coordinated Program is a plus.
- Two years of relevant experience (post B.Sc.)
