The Chemical Engineering program at the School of Engineering (located in Byblos, Lebanon) invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor rank in the field of Chemical Engineering.

Applications will be reviewed continuously until the position is filled. Expected start date is September 2023/January 2024.

Candidates must have undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemical engineering, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or closely related field. Post-doc research experience is a plus. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise (first author on journal publications) in computational and experimental research in the following areas:

  1. Computational modelling of chemical processes for hydrogen/syngas production from renewable and non-renewable sources.
  2. Nanomaterials applied in catalytic reactions: synthesis, characterization, and catalytic testing in reactions for energy production and environment protection.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, perform university service activities, and actively participate in research by attracting external funding and publishing research findings. In line with the School of Engineering strategy to grow its existing research clusters, the successful candidate is expected to integrate in existing research clusters.
