The Department of Art & Design at the School of Architecture & Design (SArD) at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor in Fashion Design, for the Fall 2026 semester, with a full academic year appointment ending June 30, 2027.
We are seeking an experienced fashion designer with a strong academic and professional background to contribute to our dynamic and internationally recognized Fashion Design program. The ideal candidate will advise senior students in the development of their final collections and actively engage in the creative and academic life of the department.
About the Program and School
LAU’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design is offered in collaboration with Elie Saab, and is the first of its kind in Lebanon. The program emphasizes creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation, preparing students to become leaders in the global fashion industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert mentorship and critique to senior-level students on the conceptualization, development, and execution of their capstone collections.
- Teach studio and/or theory courses in fashion design.
- Participate in critiques, exhibitions, and departmental activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in fashion design, with a strong portfolio of creative work.
- Prior teaching experience at the university level.
- A terminal degree (MFA or equivalent) in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Terms of Appointment
- Start Date: Fall 2026 (September 1, 2026)
- Contract Duration: Academic year 2025-26, renewable based on performance
- Rank: Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor (non-tenure track)
