The Human Resources Department is currently looking for a Compensation & Benefits Deputy Director/Director for its Beirut Campus. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources.
Role Summary
The Compensation & Benefits Deputy Director/Director is responsible for leading and managing the processing of compensation & benefits, payroll, and personnel transactions; and administering benefits to full-time and part-time faculty and staff members in Beirut Campus, in line with the University’s compensation & benefits policies and governmental rules & regulations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages and monitors the processing of all personnel transactions of full-time and part-time faculty and staff members in Beirut.
- Supervises the preparation of full-time and part-time faculty contracts, ensuring compliance with approved compensation and benefits policies and with regulatory requirements.
- Supervises the preparation of part-time staff contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervises file establishment and HRMS record creation of new faculty and staff members.
- Supervises the proper processing personnel transactions of full-time and part-time faculty and staff members in Beirut Campus.
- Supervises the processing of salary advances and payment holds & releases for full-time and part-time faculty and staff members.
- Monitors and supervises the implementation of all University fringe benefits plans; educational benefits, life & LTD, and medical insurance.
- Manages the administration of the Pension Plans for entitled personnel and the US Social Security for US faculty and staff members.
- Overseas the implementation of all NSSF transactions.
- Supervises the implementation of the various monthly payroll cycles in coordination with the Business Office, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines and requirements.
- Coordinates the yearly process of faculty promotions and salary increments approvals.
- Supervises the yearly process of updating the HRMS with faculty and staff promotions and salary increments.
- Supervises the ongoing process of updating the HRMS with faculty and staff role and status changes.
- Manages the process of securing entry visas, residency permits and work permits for foreign faculty and staff members.
- Ensures the proper organization, safekeeping, update and maintenance of all personnel records and files.
- Issues employment statements and certificates for full-time and part-time faculty and staff members.
- Acts as a resource for management and various LAU constituents advising on HR policies & procedures, compensation & benefits plans, and payroll & compliance issues.
- Responds to Management enquiries and data requests, and generates regular and ad-hoc reports, as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business from a renowned university, preferably in Human Resources or Management. A master’s degree is a plus
- 10-15 years of relevant work experience
- Solid knowledge of the Lebanese Labor Law and NSSF regulations
- Knowledge of Microsoft suites and Oracle E-Business Suite
- Excellent communication skills
