The Business Development & Global Affairs Entity is currently looking for a Director of LAU Industrial Hub (IH) reporting to the Vice President for Business Development & Global Affairs. This is a central position based on Byblos Campus with occasional presence on Beirut campus.Role Summary
The Director of LAU Industrial Hub (IH) is responsible for managing the industrial hub’s operations as well as the Work Force Rental and Pods (WFRP). He/She oversees and provides updates on all technical, financial, operational, grants management and proposal writing matters ensuring that IH is provided with the appropriate support from each constituent (University and Industry Partners).
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Reviews and ensures that the Industrial Hub finances remain within budget, and reviews and provides input on overall technical and operational progress of the IH
- Coordinates with the clients of the Industry Pods on the delivering process and provides the needed workforce, space and logistics
- Ensures that the Space Rentals have suitable infrastructure and allocated personnel to answer present and future needs that might be requested from the expanding clientele base
- Manages the cash flow operations of the WFRP and secures revenue stream by establishing appropriate rental terms
- Provides needed support and quality check to ensure profitable operations of the WFRP
- Provides direction to the WFRP through professional local services when needed or based on input acquired from the Industry Leadership Council and Advisory Committee
- Ensures that all activities comply with the relevant university regulations
- Issues technical, financial and statistical reports on monthly and yearly basis
- Prepares MOAs, proposals, bidding contracts, and memos
- Prepares budgets, financial modelling, presentations and progress reports
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Master Degree in a related field
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience as an entrepreneur, establishing businesses, providing guidance to developing SMEs, grant writing experience targeting NGOs and USAID in a corporate or academic setting, with at least 6 being in a managerial/supervisory role
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Business Oriented and well connected with industries
- Ability to manage a team of professionals
- Ability to develop and interpret financial plans and manage resources
- Ability to uphold organizational values and maintain confidentiality
