Dr. Jordan Srour

Assistant Provost for Educational Resources and Innovation

Dr. Jordan Srour joined the Provost’s Office as Assistant Provost for Educational Resources and Innovation in January 2022. In this role she assists the Provost in managing the resources provided through the Riyad Nassar Library, the Joseph G. Jabbra Library, and the Health Sciences Library. She also works to enable the engagement of LAU’s teaching community in innovative pedagogies through the Center for Innovative Learning.

In addition to her role in the Provost’s Office, Dr. Srour serves as the Academic Director for the Middle East Partnership Initiative, Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate Program at LAU. In that role she works to ensure that the more than thirty students spanning five academic programs follow a curricular path imbued with gender awareness, communty engagement, leadership training, and scholarship.

As an Associate Professor of Operations Management in the Adnan Kassar School of Business’ Department of Information Technology and Operations Management, Dr. Srour teaches within the data analytics field. In Fall 2021, Dr. Srour was awarded a grant from the United States Department of State to develop a virtual exchange opportunity in partnership with Boise State University as part of her Data-Driven Design Thinking course — the project saw students from the US and Lebanon collaborating virtually on the design of innovative solutions to problems of sustainable development.

Beyond her passion for innovative teaching and learning, Dr. Srour’s research interests include interdisciplinary applications of mathematics and computer science to identify and leverage patterns in data. Her data-driven skills have been applied to topics spanning transportation management, construction management, human resource management, measurements of diversity, and co-created views of cultural heritage.  Her research appears in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals including Transportation Science, Journal of Construction Engineering and Management,  Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Social Research Methodology, Poetics, and Computers and Operations Research.

Dr. Srour is also a member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) where she serves on an ad-hoc committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the Transportation Science and Logistics society.

She holds a PhD in Logistics Management from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, a M.S. in Engineering (Transportation) from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BA in Mathematics from Carleton College.
