Dr. Zeina Khouri-Stevens

Executive Vice President for Health Services

Dr. Zeina Khouri-Stevens was appointed Executive Vice President for Health Services on July 1, 2025, tasked with strengthening and unifying LAU’s academic health system.

In this role, Dr. Khouri-Stevens provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital and LAU Medical Center–Saint John’s Hospital, in close coordination with the Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, the Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing and the School of Pharmacy, to further advance LAU’s academic, clinical, and operational integration. Her mandate focuses on aligning clinical care with academic excellence and driving operational performance, financial sustainability, and community impact.

As Executive Vice President for Health Services, she leads initiatives to integrate health services with LAU’s academic mission, promote high-quality, patient-centered care, encourage innovation and continuous professional development, build strategic partnerships at national and regional levels, and enhance institutional resilience.

Dr. Khouri-Stevens brings more than 20 years of international experience in healthcare leadership and nursing strategy in the US, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and emerging markets. She has held senior leadership roles at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, Clemenceau Medical Center, and most recently, as Group Chief Nursing Officer at Emirates Hospitals Group. She was also Managing Partner at Emerging Health International, Global Nurse Consultant with Cedars-Sinai International, Senior Director of Clinical & Operational Excellence at Vmarsh, and Interim CEO at ASA Hospital in Sarajevo.

A strong advocate for the nursing profession, Dr. Khouri-Stevens has played an instrumental role in healthcare reform and academic development, including launching the first Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program in Saudi Arabia. She continues to serve as an adjunct faculty member at Johns Hopkins University, US, and the University of Wollongong, Australia.

Dr. Khouri-Stevens holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Maryland, an MSN from the University of San Francisco, and a BSN from the American University of Beirut.
