Position Summary
The Department of English in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applicants to a tenure track position at the Associate Professor rank. The department is interested in applicants specializing in Creative Writing who can contribute to the development of the department and school initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses such as travel writing, poetry, fiction and playwriting; as well as writing for institutions, speech writing, and grant writing
- Oversee senior year projects
- Engage in scholarly work and research
- Advise and mentor students
- Engage in service to the department, the university and the profession
- Additional duties may be set by the department in light of departmental needs and priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Professor at the current institution
- A Ph.D. from a recognized institution
- Evidence of scholarship, research productivity, and professional creative writing
- Evidence of successful university teaching
- Demonstration of effective teaching methods and delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach English language courses
