My Journey at LAU

Maria Zeina ‘22

Graduating from university was an unforgettable experience that made me reflect on my journey during these three years. I started university as a biology premed student, hoping I would enter the medical field. It was a tough journey from the start, especially with the huge transition to online learning and having to adapt to many changes. However, I managed to learn more about myself and test my capabilities in different aspects of life. I discovered that in addition to the intellectual growth that LAU offers, I was able to strengthen my emotional endurance.

It was a wonderful experience making friends from different backgrounds and nationalities.  Those friends were my support system as we helped each other during the late nights of studying. One of my memorable achievements was becoming the treasurer of the Premedical Society Club and the secretary of the First Responders Club at LAU. This experience increased my social connections and sense of responsibility.

LAU’s various extracurricular activities, such as the volunteering opportunities at various organizations, a hospital internship, the Model United Nations program, and tutoring services contributed to the growth of my interpersonal relations and allowed me to appreciate the emotional aspect of becoming a physician. Graduating with the President’s Award and being accepted at LAU’s school of medicine were some of my proudest moments so far at university. I am thankful for the opportunities and achievements throughout my journey and look forward to more of those in the future.
