As I had taken part in Harvard’s Global Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning and introduced the Harvard Case Method teaching at LAU in senior and graduate courses, the Adnan Kassar School of Business sponsored me to attend a month-long Harvard Business Publishing program on teaching with cases online.

By the end of March, I had designed a 10-days-long casework for the senior marketing strategy course on both Beirut and Byblos campuses, integrating asynchronous and synchronous approaches. The first method involved a broad group discussion-based analysis for a one-week period, and the second adopted a WebEx live session in which the case was fully deconstructed using the Harvard method while incorporating the discussion board analysis.

This new learning experience brought the students together in the online forum, where they were split into several groups, with each group focusing on a personal question and an area of the case study. Their interactions during the deconstruction of the case helped them formulate the right marketing strategies within a real business problem and changing market realities.
