Dear LAU faculty, staff and students,

The University is very grateful that there was no loss of life during the earthquake that hit Lebanon last night.

The prevailing weather conditions and the status of the roadways may hinder your commute to the University. Accordingly:

  • There will be no exams today.
  • Courses scheduled for today that can be delivered remotely will be given online.
  • All experiential courses and laboratory sessions scheduled for today will be rescheduled to a later date by the concerned departments.

Everyone is urged to use utmost caution when considering commute to the campus.

Similarly, for staff whose presence is not critical, and cannot make it safely to the campus, please attend to your duties online.

The University will issue a follow-up communique this evening addressing the status of tomorrow’s courses and attendance.

Thank you,
