Free Parking for Byblos Campus Students (Lower Parking Lots)

Posted

In light of the Blat Municipality’s sudden creation of an extensive valet parking system at the entrance to our LAU Byblos campus where our students used to park for free, and because LAU had no jurisdiction over this matter, the university has decided to exceptionally waive the parking fees for its students in the lower parking lots for this year. The parking fees along with other fees will be revisited for the next academic year.

Update: The shuttle between parking lots A–B and the medical gate has expanded its service. It now runs every 15 minutes, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. LAU will continue to optimize this service during the semester to suit students’ needs.

Graduation Ceremony Seating

Posted

The LAU Office of Public Relations and Media has issued this release:

To clarify the email sent to students yesterday regarding VIP tickets for our Commencement Exercises, LAU like other institutions in Lebanon is expected to follow customary practices and abide by necessary logistics and protocol regarding seating arrangements of public officials and dignitaries in formal functions.

LAU believes in honoring our students, their parents and families at all times, especially during Commencement. It is a celebration of our students and we could not be more proud in showcasing their achievements in front of their parents and their families.

The VIP culture in Lebanon is strong and imposes practices, and restrictions, on all institutions. We hope we can all work together to gradually change some aspects of that culture in our beloved Lebanon.
